Popis: | Based on the data discussed here, we postulate that the human prothymocyte has the TdT+/HLA-DR+/CD7+/CD2+/CD5-/CD1-/CD3- phenotype and occurs in the BM in low frequencies (about 2 in 10,000 MNC). The TcR-Γ and TcR-β genes of the prothymocyte are in germline configuration. However, the CD3 genes are transcribed and probably CyCD3 is expressed (cf. Fig. 3). Future experiments have to elucidate which signals and proteins regulate the migration patterns and differentiation pathways of prothymocytes. Furthermore, the role of CyCD3 during the early stages of T cell differentiation has to be investigated. |
