Synthesis of some 4-substituted 1-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines

Popis:	A number of 4-substituted pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines 1a-f has been coupled with (2-acetoxyethoxy)methylbromide 2, using liquid-liquid and solid-liquid phase transfer catalysis. The influence of the solvent and catalyst has been studied. The N1 isomers have been regioselectively formed in a fairly good yields. All compounds 4a-h have been evaluated against HIV and various DNA viruses and they have been found to be inactive.
