An extreme case of ZnO6octahedral distortion in trizinc tris(selenite) hydrate, Zn3(SeO3)3

Popis: Trizinc tris[trioxoselenate(IV)] hydrate, Zn 3 (SeO 3 ) 3 .H 2 O, is built up from ZnO 6 octahedra [d av (Zn-O) = 2.127 (2) A] and SeO 3 pyramids [d av (Se-O) = 1.693 (2) A], sharing vertices and edges. One of the zinc octahedra is exceptionally distorted. The title compound is isostructural with Co 3 (SeO 3 ) 3 .H 2 O and Ni 3 (SeO 3 ) 3 .H 2 O.
