Structural features of compounds of the sillenite family

Popis: | It is shown that the real composition and structure of phases belonging to the sillenite family can be determined using a complex of techniques (diffraction methods, vibrational and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, and electron probe X-ray microanalysis) with a subsequent crystal-chemical analysis of the data. Refined compositions are presented for phases of nominal composition Bi24M2O40 with M = Zn2+, Al3+, Ga3+, Fe3+, Si4+, Ti4+, Mn4+, and P5+, which demonstrate types and concentrations of point defects as functions of the M type. |
