Acid-base properties and the reversible hydrolysis of 2-hydro-2-oxo-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane

Abstrakt: 1.Potentiometric titration, vibrational and NMR spectroscopy were used to study the acid-base properties and hydrolytic stability of pinacone phosphite in different media.2.The proton-acceptor capacity of the phosphoryl group oxygen atom of pinacone phosphite is similar to the proton-acceptor capacity of dialkyl phosphites.3.In water and water-ethanol solutions, pinacone phosphite hydrolyzes with the formation of a phosphorous acid monoester. The hydrolysis of pinacone phosphite is reversible in nature.
