New research from Fudan University explores the concept of acidic preconditioning (AP) and its potential protective effects on kidney injury. The study found that short-term, repetitive acidic stimulation can enhance a cell's ability to withstand subsequent adverse stress. In both in vitro and in vivo models, AP was shown to effectively mitigate hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) injury in kidney cells. The study also identified the involvement of the FAK/NOX4/NHE1 signaling pathway in maintaining intracellular pH homeostasis and promoting cytoskeletal remodeling. These findings provide evidence for the potential therapeutic application of AP in kidney injury. [Extracted from the article] |
