The publication's mission is to expand knowledge about the character of chipped stone industry in the Upper Palaeolithic. The major part of the book summarizes information about chipped stone industry of the early cultures of the Bronze Age and centres on its anchoring in the economic, social and religious structures of these populations. The book also discusses chipped industry of more recent periods that has been marginalized so far. The publication is designed as a methodology cycle as it approaches the information about this specific segment of material culture of prehistoric societies not only from the point of view of morphotypology but also features case studies based on the use of dynamic analysis, supply chains, traseology, experimental archaeology, social archaeology, ethnoarchaeology and archaeology of religiosity. This multi-methodological overview presents chipped industry of the Upper Palaeolithic in a new light. |
