Popis: Most of the political parties confide in their leaders. Why? Because politics is personalized. Since the 1960s, political parties have been in decline and individualities are rising because of individualization, erosion of traditional cleavages and the development of modern media. Politicians now seem to be programmed, a brand, being the primary reason for voters to elect their party. This book represents the Czech perspective on the personalization of politics theory. It introduces the results of foreign and Czech studies in the dimensions of institutions, media, and behavior, before bringing the concept into the post-communist era, which is by itself a challenge to study. The book investigates whether personalization exists within Czech politics focusing parliamentary elections (2002-2013).
