This book presents an original and unpretentious study of ethnicity and nationalism, topics which always surprise us with new forms and intensities of manifestation. By combining the results of studying people and their intimate narratives with the results of global statistical data studies, the author creates a picture of these phenomena in postsocialist Serbia. The author highlights the relationship between ethnicity, nationalism, and violence and makes an attempt to discern whether this connection is natural or necessary. In doing so, this work attempts to answer whether the negative attitudes directed at nationalism are justified. |
