The article discusses the aim and function of the open portal Finna. The information from Finna, at www.finna.fi, comes from all Finnish memory organizations and as of the last quarter of 2013, there are at least 9 million entries. Different search features and user applications are already available. Rationale for using open source, comparison of Finna with other commercial portals, and expected developments are also included. |
