The article identifies ethical and safety issues one should consider before seeking out a clinical trial and provides resources for locating treatment trials focusing on specific diseases. Clinical trials are conducted for a number of reasons, including to examine combinations of marketed drugs, to explore ways to use or compared approved treatments, and to evaluate therapies in different populations. Each sponsor of a clinical trial is required to develop a protocol. |
