| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses new library legislation in the German Federal States of Thüringen, Hessen and Sachsen-Anhalt. The presence or lack of library laws in a number of other German Federal States is mentioned. It is argued that library legislation is essential for libraries to service well the Information and Knowledge Communities, and that library laws should be considered and evaluated according to juridical considerations, though always keeping the conception of the library in mind. |
