Abstrakt: Traditionally, librarians have gained new knowledge by traveling to conferences sponsored by professional associations. While these events remain useful opportunities for learning, they are no longer sufficient. All library staff members are expected to continually learn new skills, stay in touch with trends, and incorporate new technology into their work. Continual learning must be woven into the library organization in order to be successful but, with time and budget restraints, this can be a challenge. Fortunately, new opportunities for learning are widely available and these can be supported at an administrative level through job descriptions, evaluations, and organizational culture.
