The author reflects on how science fiction has led to a new reality. He says that the "Star Trek" series of films and TV shows can create a market for technologies that might otherwise be regarded as too exotic for an easy sell. He adds that information professionals can retain their relevance by guaranteeing the truth, accuracy and quality of the services they provide. He also discusses the significance of universal mobile computing for information professionals. |
