The article presents a profile of Lynd Kendall Ward, who was a children's book illustrator and also wrote six graphic novels for adults. Details are provided about Ward's childhood interest in art and education at Columbia University and the National Academy of Graphic Arts and Bookmaking in Germany. Ward was influenced by woodcuts that were created by the artist Frans Masereel and that appeared in his book "Die Sonne." The influence that Ward has had on literature is described. |
