Abstrakt: | Academic libraries have traditionally attempted to accomodate change by establishing internal committees or by seeking suggestions from outside consultants. Unfortunately, administrators committed to the status quo frequently ignore any recommendations from these two bodies. Maintains that a "Research Group" consisting of diverse elements of the school, including faculty, students, and librarians, should be created to define problem areas and to specify long-term actions, especially concerning the library's service programs. Conservative administrators would not have to feel threatened by rapid changes, and a climate for improvement would be initiated. |
