| Abstrakt: |
The article presents research on journalism and mass media on the use of information acquired through nontraditional technological means, such as photography from cellular telephone cameras and information posted on Web sites. The coverage of the mass murders at Virginia Tech University on April 16, 2007 by various newspapers and the Web sites of television news broadcasting organizations was examined. It was found that while newspapers were far more likely to use information from unofficial sources such as eyewitnesses than were the television news Web sites, the latter organizations were more likely to provide information generated from the so-called "new" technology. |
