Abstrakt: The article presents a study which examines the credibility of internet commerce in Great Britain, based on the information content and quality of car insurance web sites including Automobile Association Ltd. (AA), Norwich Union, and Tesco PLC. It explores the security and individualisation of web sites and how these factors influence consumer perception in internet shopping. It shows that Norwich Union web site appears to be the most credible among the three sites while Tesco appears the least credible and suggests that credibility problems lie in key areas of trustworthiness, expertise, and real-world feel for consumers. It implies that these three areas are the key determinants for support and improvement of future internet shopping web designs.
