Abstrakt: The article reports on the debate over the book "The Golden Compass" by Philip Pullman in the Alamosa School District in Colorado. The book was banned from several middle schools in the district in 2007 based on complaints from parents, which the author cites as censorship. The author notes that a public discussion involving Adams State College (ASC), which was working on a project about the right to read, and the local community led to the reinstatement of the book in the middle school library.
