Abstrakt: The article focuses on the study which provides an analysis on knowledge management and communities of practice of research laboratories of the scientific center in Grenoble, France. It reveals that the scientific center was established in the 19th Century which promotes academic production and commitment to the government and economy as well as builds cooperation with cities and different countries in carrying out research works. The study utilized the situated knowledge model established by Ikujiro Nonaka which assesses the process of tacit and explicit knowledge in reasearch laboratories. It states that findings of the study were obtained through case studies, field observations, interviews and principal component analysis.
