The article discusses the used of "Text a Librarian" service in a library setting to Bryant University in Rhode Island which utilizes Altarama's Short Message Service reference product to convert text messages into electronic mails. It states that as the "Text a Librarian" service gained popularity, they developed policies to address recurring issues. It determines that through text messaging, it enhances the quality of their outreach to students. It notes that "Text a Librarian" was not a replacement for face-to-face reference services. |
