Abstrakt: The article explores the experiences and attitudes of former developmental students in a manner that empowered and promoted the continued personal or educational shortcomings. It states that the study is focused on interrelationships such as the attribution of students on causal linkages between implementation of developmental mathematics and outcomes. Methodology-wise, the researcher used a single case design to contribute to theory building and knowledge. In connection, the implications for practices in developmental mathematics education directly related to the outcomes of the study are also discussed.
