The article explains the Counter Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources (COUNTER) Code of Practice: Books and Reference Works in March 2006. It states that a reference work is defined by Counter as an authoritative source of information about a topic used to search quick answers to questions but Counter promotes comprehensiveness, desirable in a journal search. The statistical aspects measured by the code for electronic books and reference works include turnaways by month and service and total searches and sessions by month and service. |
