The article reports that the Louisiana Online University Information System (LOUIS) has successfully migrated the library network of its 26 member libraries from Northwestern Online Totally Integrated System (NOTIS) Library Management System to the Sirsi Unicorn system. The systems migration started in April 2001, where member libraries from Baton Rouge and New Orleans were integrated in three phases. The library staff was also given training on the functionality and technical aspects of the new system, as well as training on how to create and run Sirsi application programming interfaces (APIs) and how to create custom reports. |
