The article presents information on the consumer health web sites in Louisiana hospitals. According to a survey of cancer patients, two reasons why most patients turn to the Internet to locate health information are because they are dissatisfied with the information their physicians have provided or they do not believe they have been given all of the pertinent information about their health concerns. According to the article, the purpose of the Web site is to provide information about the hospital and its services to prospective patients. It adds that the opportunity to provide consumer health information to the public does not seem to be a major concern of Louisiana hospitals. |
