Abstrakt: The article presents information on the character of Carol Kennicott in the book "Main Street: The Story of Carol Kennicott," by Sinclair Lewis. It informs that the character of Kennicott was a librarian at the St. Paul Public Library in Minnesota before she marries Will Kennicott, a physician. It reflects that Kennicott was not educationally prepared for the job of a librarian and thus becomes bored and disappointed with her profession. She hopes to achieve her ideals and with encouragement from her husband, begins community improvement projects in a Georgian city.
