Abstrakt: The riches of The Royal Mail Archive are many and cover a huge variety of subjects. Yet they remain under-used in particular by the contemporary historian. As an institution that touched many aspects of national life, the story of the Post Office is inextricably linked to key events in twentieth century British history. This article touches on a number of these links. It goes on to highlight numerous examples of material in The Royal Mail Archive that the contemporary historian could deploy to enhance their research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
