Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which developed a method of evaluating the cost-effectiveness of serials. The level of use a serial receives is measured and the level of use to the cost of the subscription is related. In defining cost-effectiveness, the relationship between the cost of a journal and the level of use it receives are considered. The study reveals a variation in the cost-per-use data of the serials in the collection used in the study. It also fails to show a correlation between the opinions expressed by faculty members about the value of particular serials to their work and the cost effectiveness of the library's subscription.
