Research on Spices in Asia: A Bibliometric Study.

Abstrakt: The article discusses the publication profile research and development output on Spices of 36 countries in Asia. HORT-CD database was searched through key term MAJOR SPICES for the study period 1978 to 2002 in all fields of each record. The name of each country was further searched. Using a quantitative analysis of the research publications, findings revealed that there was a steady increase of publication pattern in Spices Research. "Indian-Cocoa, Arecanut-and-Spices-Journal" followed by the "Journal of Spices and Aromatic Crops" by Indian Institute of Spices Research were the highest contributors with 277, 223 articles, respectively. In addition, Indian Institute of Spices Research was the main producer of Spices Research in India.
