Multicultural Postage Librariana Part II: Libraries and Archives on Stamps Around the Globe.

Abstrakt: The article presents libraries which are featured on stamps worldwide. More than 120 countries and territories have been issuing stamps that represent libraries and archives. A chronological list of libraries which appeared for the first time on their countries' stamps is presented. It was observed that among the 120 countries or so, the United States was the first country in the world to issue a stamp that portrays a librarian or archivist or a library in 1847. While Canada was the second country that issued stamps that depicts Halifax Law Library in 1879. Other countries such as Belgium, Spain, Austria, Iceland, Estonia, and Finland followed suit.
