With the conversion of many journal holdings from print to an electronic-only format, there is a growing concern about gaps in holdings where the print format has stopped and the electronic access no longer includes all of the years since the print acquisition ceased. In other words, there is a "gap" in holdings. An assessment was done at the author's library to sec how many titles were involved, and how the library might compensate for the gaps in holdings. This article will explore the depth of the problem in one collection, the steps taken to determine if the gap in holdings should be addressed, and the various options that can be considered to solve the problem.
