| Abstrakt: |
This article focuses on the growth of the Korean information services industry as of April 1, 1990. Koreans recognize that getting into high technology via electronic information would be a suitable way of creating a globally sound competitive base for Korea's skills and energies. An added incentive for getting into such activities is that the information industries are relatively less polluting than the current heavy industries such as automobile manufacturing that now dominates the Korean marketplace. The Korean information industry has a broader scope than those companies and interests represented by the Information Industry Association here in the U.S. For Koreans, the information industry includes the production, manufacture, storage and dissemination, and marketing of information through electronic methods. |
