The experience of particular types of migration political exile and diaspora are mainly portrayed from the refugee's perspective focusing on the travel process itself or the problems of integration. Despite the interest in this theme emerging only recently its global persistence and relevance are already considerable and are depicted in relation to different contexts by authors such as Judith Kerr Peter Sís and Uri Shulevitz to name a few. This article thus analyzes the depiction of exile as depicted in two Portuguese illustrated children's books portraying the exile experience during the dictatorial regime. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
