As the acquisition of electronic resources continued to grow at the George T. Harrell Library, so too did the need for automated management of the links to those resources, for better tracking of changes m coverage, and for a more efficient compilation of usage statistics for collection development. Several products were tested and in May 2004, the EBSCO A-to-Z and LinkSource products were purchased as part of a package that included several full-text databases. This article will discuss why the EBSCO products were selected; what was done to prepare for the implementation process; how the transition was made from a static A-to-Z Web list of journals; and what are the benefits and challenges of using the EBSCO products to date.
