| Abstrakt: |
The article focuses on Library Administration & Management Association (LAMA) Building and Equipment Section (BES) building awards held at the American Library Association annual conference in Chicago. The BES building committee is looking forward to hosting a wonderful program and reception to honor the recipients of the 2005 American Institute of Architects/ALA Building Awards. The charge of the LAMA BES Functional Space Requirements Committee is to update and revise Building Blocks for Planning Functional Library Space, published in 2001. Based upon recent meetings, the committee believes that so much change in library space planning has occurred that revisions to this publication are necessary. The Library Building Consultants List Committee has reviewed the status of the online list, discussed the various problems associated with it, and agreed on recommendations for action in the following areas like data structure; pricing and fee structure; and revising the committee's charge. |
