It is stated that information productivity of a scientists depends upon the number and frequency of contracts with colleagues, as well as upon the time devoted to these contacts. More often a scientist establishes contacts with the colleagues who are more familiar with scientific and technical literature. The probability of contacts decreases with the inceasing distance between scientists. It is suggested that a system of information links between scientists be used for the improvement of information services provided to them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
