The major task of an information service of a research and production association is supplying information to management. This calls for a corresponding setting of priorities for the service. A reliable information backup to managerial decision making and to management in general can be expected only from a system of interlinked analytical documents. A case study is presented of a system, operational in a research and production association for the last three years, and handling three types of analytical document: express document, periodical document, and fundamental document.
