The report outlines the importance and the problems of the transfer of technological information. Classifying information transfer: as person-to-person, document-to-person or computer-to-person communication it discusses recent changes in the mechanism of information transfer, due mainly to the increased rate of development of information technology. Improving the efficiency of the transfer of technological information is an essential precondition of giving all countries a share in the achievements of scientific and technical development. The committee on engineering information of the world federation of engineering organizations (wfeo/cei) has to play an eminent role in the elaboration of methods for improving efficiency, in improving methods of training both engineering students and practicing engineers in information systems, in the co-operation with international organizations. For solving the problems of information transfer an increased co-operation with the national members of the w.f.e.o is necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
