Abstrakt: Quantitative information is used to answer inquiries about the past, the present, and the future, each inquiry has three components: the subset of materials, the construction process and the response format. This paper proposes as the corresponding forms of quantitative information the 'mite', the 'item', and the 'emit', these forms may be either virtual or real. The qualifiers of the mite, item, and emit are identity, measure, time, and enclosure. Two or more mites may be manipulated with respect to one or more qualifiers to generate an item. Both mites and items must be formatted in order to become emits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
