Abstrakt: Presents results of a 1994 pilot study of the information needs of parliamentarians in Botswana to investigate the information-seeking behavior of Members of Parliament (MPs) and to help the National Assembly Library plan for an effective information service. Main objectives of the study were to: (1) determine the information needs of the MPs in Botswana; (2) identify sources used by parlimentarians to satisfy their information needs; (3) determine the degree of assistance which MPs require in using information in parliamentary debates; (4) determine the adequacy of the National Assembly Library and the Research Unit in providing the parliamentarians with the information they need; and (5) suggest possible means by which information services to parliamentarians can be improved.
