Abstrakt: 'Imaging' is the ability to capture, manage, store, and retrieve essential business documentation. In many businesses, imaging has a fundamental impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the ways in which business is processed. This is particularly true in the case of the life insurance industry, where competitive advantage rests in large measure on the efficiency of the business process and where companies are operating in a fiercely competitive business environment. Kodak Office Imaging, a major player in the imaging systems market, surveyed the opinion of key industry players to elicit their views on the ways in which their businesses are developing, and the impact of those developments on their information technology (IT) and imaging systems. The survey targeted 50 directors or senior managers from 35 top British life insurance firms, and includes their views about imaging, the insurance industry, imaging cost factors, implementation of imaging technology, and the process of change.
