One of the principal missions of the Bibliographical Agency of Higher Education (ABES) in France is to design shared documentation tools and put them at the disposal of users. Among these, SUDOC aims to set up a single catalog listing all kinds of documents to serve as a tool for a cataloging network and provision of documents at a distance. As coordinator of the networking tasks of all academic libraries in France, the objective of ABES will henceforth be to open up to international networks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
