School libraries: mystical cultural garrisons half-hidden in the corridors of institutions. Undervalued, misunderstood, often cited out of hand. Yet this is where the bud of motivation for reading is born, or should be born, this multidimensional construct that pushes us to review the behaviour/skill of reading from a transdisclplinary perspective, analysing convergences and differences between education and promotion and proposing real operational tools, such as the S.T.Li.Mo.L. questionnaire, that allow school libraries to put themselves at the centre of the reading wheel, keeping it turning.
