Leipzig is an important location of sciences. Among the numerous research institutions in the city, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography is one of the smaller institutes. However, it can look back on a long history that began as a museum in 1896. With the Geographical Central Library and the Archive of Geography, the Institute has unique scientific collections on the history of geography. In addition to approximately 200 bequests and holdings, users can access about 300,000 individual images from the period since 1860. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
