Abstrakt: The article presents a discussion on grey literature and metadata. Grey literature is produced on all levels of government, business and industry in print and electronic formats, not controlled by commercial publishers. All types of literature not available through the normal book-selling channels, including reports, trade literature, translations, and ad hoc publications are also termed as grey literature. Grey literature includes many categories of materials such as research and technical reports, pre- prints, committee reports, working papers, conference papers, dissertations, interim government reports, statistical files, zines, personal home pages, fan sites or publications, and much more. Often among the first sources of information on a topic or activity, grey literature is sometimes the only resource ever issued, and may offer unique information and insights not available elsewhere. A significant issue for libraries collecting grey literature has always been the challenge of identifying and acquiring these resources. For cataloging, grey literature can be challenging. Grey literature tends to exhibit problems such as little or no embedded metadata, lack of formally presented metadata, and conflicted metadata.
