Abstrakt: Scientometrics is the study of measuring and analyzing science, technology, and innovation. There is significant overlap between scientometrics and other scientific fields such as bibliometrics and information systems. Health science librarians can use scientometrics to aid clinical and research personnel in evidence-based searching to determine which databases are best suited for searching a particular subject, to identify where particular research is being conducted, and for making administrataive decisions such as which resources will best serve library users. The following article describes a scientifiic analysis of the H1N1 influenza pandemic and how librarians used the literature to provide evidence-based support to meedical faculty members. It is probably the first study that evaluates global H1N1 research using scientometric methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
