Abstrakt: The Public Library Geographic Database (PLGDB) is being developed through funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. It is accessible through a link on the GeoLib Web page (www.geolib.org). The map-based database contains all the public library outlets and entities in the United States as well as political and administrative boundaries and roads. The initial group of data sets includes preselected Census 2000 data and the Federal-State Cooperative System, National Center for Education Statistics data for public library entities. User feedback is being solicited on additional data sets to incorporate into PLGDB that would make the database more valuable to public library stakeholders. The goal of PLGDB is to remain no-cost to the end user. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
