The article discusses historical source material concerning the Finck von Finckenstein family in archives in former east Prussian towns including Dąbrówno, Szymbark, and Jaśkowo, Poland. The author traces members of the noble family via primary source documents including contracts and public registers and examines archival sources on the political history of the Erbhauptämter genealogical offices in east Prussia. |
