An interview with publishing firm Elsevier director of access and policy, Alicia Wise, is presented. She discusses developments in scholarly publishing as of November 2015, particularly the use of hybrid formats and liquid books as alternatives to portable document format (PDF) and paper. She explains how they will maintain their competitiveness against a possible competition with major research universities in the U.S. and European Union (EU), and their plan not to publish monographs. |
