Abstrakt: Tropical regions contain higher species diversity than any other biomes of the world. This is attributed to their extensive area that creates many habitat types, their comparatively stable and warm climate with higher primary productivity, their long growing season, and the long time since they underwent major perturbations. Tropical savannas denote communities with an expanse of grass layer and scattered woody vegetation (shrubs and trees). They are found in tropical and subtropical regions, shaped by a succession of dry and wet seasons that differentiate them from other biomes. Tropical savannas cover about 10,656,420 square miles (27.6 million square kilometers), approximately 12.5 percent of the global land mass. They comprise roughly 40 percent of Africa, and they are also represented in parts of Australia, South America, and Asia.
